Kim Cook
Artistic Description
I perform classical music for cello ranging from Bach to Bartok and beyond. In addition to the standard repertoire, I offer programs which include music from Latin America, unaccompanied works, and African American spirituals. Having lived in Brazil and having served as Artistic Ambassador for the Department of State to Latin America, I developed an interest in the exciting, vibrant rhythms of Latin music. As Artistic Ambassador, I represented a wide range of American music from Barber, Crumb, and Foss, to arrangements of spirituals.
I am interested in engaging audiences with the energy and emotional depth of music that represents our rich cultural heritage.
I also offer master classes and educational workshops for all types of audiences.
